Ittihad beats Wehdah 2-0

JEDDAH – Al-Ittihad won its delayed round-6 match against its guest Al-Wehdah 2-0 at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium Monday.

Moroccan striker Hicham Aboucherouane put the former league champion in the lead eight minutes before the break and midfielder Manaf Abu Shugair sealed the win eight minutes before the final whistle.

Muhanned Asseri of the guest team failed to score from the spot in the 58th minute after the Moroccan midfielder Rafiq Abdussamad was brought down in the box.

Ittihad performed better and succeeded to gain three points which marked the first participation of the team’s new Argentinean coach Enzo Hector, who set up a special camera in the stadium to help analyze his players’ performance.

Al-Ittihad is still third on the standings with 39 points while Makkah Knights are sixth with 26 points with one match in hand.
